1. MOVING SUBSCRIPTIONS
We decided to move our subscriptions from Month of the Shirt to Once Upon a Tee.
In the past, our subscriptions have always been kept on separate websites. We did this becuase it was easier for us to manage on the back end and we thought that it made it less confusing if our customers could keep their subscriptions separate from their other orders.
We were wrong. It created WAY more confusion.
On top of the confusion, 68% of the people that responded to our survey also had no idea that we even offered subscriptions.
Putting them all in one place will make the back end a little bit more difficult, but overall, it's the right call.
Unfortunately, because we moved from MOTS to OUAT, we were unable to transfer subscriptions. So you will need to sign up again.
2. MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION REWARDS
All Monthly Subscriptions will now give Rewards Points!
The biggest benefit to bringing our Subscriptions from MOTS to OUAT is that you will now receive rewards for every single subscription. This was one of the most requested things from the community and we are super happy to be able to deliver on this.
Getting Rewards for your Monthly Subscriptions will help people get access to higher tiers, as well as earn more Rewards throughout the year. We're also working on bringing bigger and better Monthly Rewards for people to use their points on in 2024. Get those points ready!
3. MONTHLY / QUARTERLY SUBSCRIPTIONS
One big thing that we heard from a LOT of people in our survey (and from prior research) is that after a year, they would need to cancel their subscription because they had too many shirts.
I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "Jason. How could anyone have too many shirts?!"
I know! I am right there with you. But in all seriousness. I get it.
Closets fill up fast and people are often Monthly Subscribers and also picking up Featured Designs from OUAT. Time flies and before you know it, you're a year in and you have 20 shirts and there's nowhere to put them.
Our solution was to move a few of our subscriptions from Monthly to Quarterly. So now instead of shipping every month, they will ship 4 times each year. I do apologize for the people that will miss getting these subscriptions monthly.
But please know that this decision wasn't made lightly. This will allow us to curate even higher quality art and improve what we do in all aspects. We will also be launching other Quarterly Subscriptions to offer even more variety.
We will have four subscriptions that ship in January, April, July, and October.
Four that ship in February, May, August, and November.
And then another four that will ship in March, June, September, and December.
We've announced the first four Quarterly Subscriptions. The others will be announced throughout the next few months.
4. GRAB BAG CHANGES & ADDITIONS
We added some depth and options to our Monthly Grab Bags!
In the past, the only option was a Monthly Random Shirt. And while that was great, we had a lot of really great feedback that people wanted more from this subscription. And we take feedback VERY seriously.
So you asked, we listened and now we're delivering.
We've now added three tiers to our Monthly Grab Bags. Those tiers are Standard, Deluxe and Premier.
Each tier is available in two options; Shirt Only or Shirt & More.
Standard Grab Bags include a single random shirt. Deluxe Grab Bags include two random shirts, and Premium Grab Bags include three random shirts. For our Shirt & More Grab Bags, you will receive the same quantity of random shirts along with previously featured items like retired stickers/magnets, enamel pins, tumblers, koozies, coasters and so, so much more.
Standard: Shirt plus $10 Value in previously featured items.
Deluxe: Two Shirts plus $15 Value in previously featured items.
Premium: Three Shirts plus $20 Value in previously featured items.
Unlike our other subscriptions, these do not wait until the 15th to close and begin production.
These subscriptions ship within 3 to 5 days after a renewal.
5. SUBSCRIPTION END / CLOSE DATES
All subscriptions will now end on the same day (the 15th) every month.
Previously, we had all of our subscriptions end on different dates. We staggered the close dates because it helped us with production.
We didn't want them to all end on the same day because it would add too many new shirts to print at the same time and that would effect our Shipping Schedule for our Featured Designs. But it definitely got WAY too confusing.
We've made some major investments and changes over the last year that will allow us to slot all of our subscriptions into our schedule without having a major effect on our production/shipping time frame.

I know that this was a LOT to read, but again, I wanted to be thorough in explaining the changes that we made and why we made them. Transparency and open communication are very important.
